Period Leak Cleanup Plan
A plain period leak cleanup worksheet for clothes, sheets, seats, kits, laundry steps, privacy notes, and when repeated soak-through may be worth tracking.
A leak can feel like a lot.
It is still just a cleanup job.
Use this plan to move one step at a time.
It is not medical advice.
It does not promise a stain will come out.
For stain only steps, use the period blood stain removal checklist.
For supplies, use the period emergency kit checklist and period product refill plan.
Quick cleanup card
Use this when you need a fast plan.
Step Done Note Get to a private spot Change product Change clothes, if needed Put wet items in a bag Rinse fresh blood with cold water, if washable Keep heat away until stain is handled Add item to laundry plan Restock bag or desk kit
Use cold water for fresh blood when the item can be rinsed.
The American Cleaning Institute says hot water can set blood stains.
Clothes plan
Start with the care label.
Some items need special care.
Item What happened First step Laundry note Underwear spot / leak / soak cold rinse / bag Pants or shorts spot / leak / soak cold rinse / bag Skirt or dress spot / leak / soak cold rinse / bag Tights or leggings spot / leak / soak cold rinse / bag Pajamas spot / leak / soak cold rinse / bag
Do not rub hard if the fabric is thin.
Do not use heat to dry the item yet.
Heat can make some stains harder to remove.
Sheets and sleep plan
Night leaks need a calm routine.
Sleep item Change now Wash later Note Sheet Mattress cover Sleep pants Underwear Towel or backup layer
Keep a spare sheet where you can reach it.
Keep a dark towel or backup layer nearby if it helps.
This is about less stress.
It is not a sign that you did something wrong.
Seat and chair plan
Use this for school, work, car, bus, or home seats.
Place What can I do now? Who needs to know? Privacy note School chair Work chair Car seat Bus or train seat Friend's house
If the seat is yours, clean it when you can.
If the seat belongs to school, work, transit, or a host, ask for help if needed.
You do not need to share cycle details.
Plain words can work:
text I need help with a spill.
I need to clean a seat.
I need to step out for a few minutes.
Bag for wet items
A small bag can save the rest of your things.
Bag item Pack it? Refill note Small zip bag Wet clothes bag Paper bag Plain pouch Spare underwear
Use a plain label if other people may see it.
Try "laundry," "backup," or "care kit."
Stain step note
For fresh blood, cold water comes first when the fabric allows it.
For dried blood, ACI says to pretreat or soak with an enzyme product.
If a stain remains, ACI says to rewash with bleach that is safe for the fabric.
Check the item label first.
Check the cleaner label too.
CDC says not to mix bleach or disinfectants with other cleaners.
Use the period blood stain removal checklist for a full stain sheet.
Restock after a leak
Leaks can use more supplies than planned.
Restock the same day if you can.
Item Used Replace by : Main period product Liner Spare underwear Small bag Wipe or tissue Extra pants
Use the period product refill plan if you want counts for each kit.
If leaks keep happening
This table is only for context.
It does not diagnose anything.

CDC says heavy bleeding can include needing to change a pad or tampon after less than 2 hours.
It can also include soaking through products every hour for several hours.
It can include needing to change products at night.
If that fits you, a short note may help at a healthcare visit.
Use Floriva for gynecologist prep if you want help making a small visit summary.
