Period Constipation Log

A no-diagnosis period constipation log for stool timing, straining, belly pain, bloating, rectal bleeding, cycle day, and care questions.

Constipation near your period can be vague.

You may have hard stool, fewer stools, straining, gas, or belly pressure. This log helps you write it down. It does not tell you why it happened.

Call sooner

Seek prompt care if any of these fit.

Severe belly pain Belly pain that is getting worse Fever Vomiting Blood in stool Black stool Rectal bleeding Very dark pee or very little pee Dry mouth Faintness or dizziness Pregnancy or possible pregnancy Constipation is lasting longer than expected Symptoms feel unsafe

Do not wait to finish this log if you feel very sick.

Quick start note

Fill this out first.

Use your normal as the baseline. "I usually go daily. Now it has been three days" is useful.

Use one row per day.

Short notes work well. Write what changed from your usual.

What else was happening?

Check what fits.

Period is due soon. Period started today. Cramps started today. I felt bloated. I had more gas than usual. I had rectal pain or pressure. I had pain with a bowel movement. I saw blood or black stool. I vomited. I had fever. I took a new medicine or supplement. I changed food, fluids, caffeine, or alcohol. I traveled or changed my routine. I felt dizzy or faint.

These details can help at a visit. They do not prove what caused the constipation.

Pattern review

After one cycle, answer these.

Question Your notes Did constipation start before bleeding? Did it happen during bleeding? How many days did it last? What was the longest time without stool? Which day had the worst straining? Which day had the worst belly pain? Did blood, black stool, or rectal bleeding happen? Did symptoms happen outside period timing too? What changed school, work, sleep, or plans?

If the pattern repeats, bring the notes to care.

Questions to ask

Could this be tied to my cycle, or should we check other causes? What symptoms mean I should call right away? Should blood, black stool, or rectal bleeding be checked now? Could medicine, supplements, pregnancy, food changes, or another cause fit? What is safe for me to do if this happens again? Should I track stool, pain, bleeding, or period timing next cycle?

For a wider stool worksheet, use the period poops tracker. If symptoms start before bleeding, use the constipation before period tracker. If pain with stool is the main issue, use painful bowel movements during period notes.
