Food Cravings Before Period Notes

A notes worksheet for food cravings before period timing, appetite change, sleep, stress, nausea, mood, cycle day, and care questions.

Food cravings before a period can feel loaded.

Use this page for plain notes.

Do not judge the food.

Do not turn the sheet into a diet plan.

The goal is simple.

Show timing.

Show what else was going on.

Write what you want to ask.

Quick craving note

Fill this in when the craving starts.

Question Your note Date Cycle day, if known Days until period, if known Period started yet yes / no Craving type sweet / salty / crunchy / warm / cold / other Appetite today low / usual / high / up and down Nausea today no / mild / strong Mood today calm / sad / tense / angry / up and down Sleep last night poor / okay / good Stress today low / medium / high What changed my day? Main care question

Use words you would use in a text.

"Salty snack after poor sleep" is enough.

Daily notes table

Use one row per day. Track before, during, and after bleeding.

Date Cycle day Period timing Craving type Appetite Nausea Mood Sleep Stress Daily impact : before / during / after / no bleeding sweet / salty / crunchy / other low / usual / high no / mild / strong poor / okay / good low / medium / high

This table is for context. It does not prove PMS.

Food neutral checkboxes

Check what fits. Skip anything that feels too private.

I wanted a sweet taste. I wanted a salty taste. I wanted a crunchy texture. I wanted a warm food or drink. I wanted a cold food or drink. My appetite felt higher than usual. My appetite felt lower than usual. I felt hungry at a new time. I felt nausea too. I had cramps too. I had a headache too. I slept poorly. Stress was high. My mood changed. I missed work, school, sleep, or plans.

There is no "good" or "bad" food column here.

What else was going on?

Use this only if it helps.

Context Your note Meal timing felt different Nausea made food harder Stress felt high Sleep was poor Pain or cramps were present Mood felt different Medicine or supplement to discuss Symptoms outside period timing

Do not use this table to blame yourself.

It is a visit note, not a food scorecard.

Pattern review

After one cycle, answer these.

Question Your note How many days before bleeding did cravings start? Did cravings change when bleeding started? Did appetite change too? Did nausea happen too? Did poor sleep happen too? Did high stress happen too? Did mood symptoms happen too? Did cravings happen outside period timing? What changed daily life most?

Office on Women's Health lists appetite changes as possible PMS symptoms.

It lists food cravings too.

A pattern still needs care context.

Questions to ask a clinician

Pick the questions that fit.

Could this timing fit a PMS pattern? What else should we think about? Should I track cravings for more than one cycle? Should I track nausea, sleep, or stress too? What symptoms mean I should call sooner? Could medicine changes matter? What details are useful for a short visit? What details can I leave out?

If nausea is part of the pattern, use the nausea before period tracker.

If stress seems linked to cycle timing, read stress and cycle length.
