Period at Camp Checklist

A plain camp period checklist for packing, cabin privacy, bathroom and shower distance, trusted adults, laundry, activity changes, cramps, refills, and parent-teen sharing boundaries.

Camp can make a period feel harder.

You may share a cabin.

Bathrooms may be far away.

Laundry may not be simple.

Use this checklist before camp.

It is not medical advice.

It does not promise camp rules.

Pack the kit

Start with products you already use.

Camp can be a hard place to test new supplies.

Item Packed Where it goes Note Pads trunk / backpack / cabin bag Tampons trunk / backpack / cabin bag Period underwear trunk / backpack / cabin bag Cup or disc case trunk / backpack / cabin bag Spare underwear trunk / backpack / cabin bag Sleep shorts or pants trunk / backpack / cabin bag Plain pouch trunk / backpack / cabin bag Small disposal bags trunk / backpack / cabin bag Wet clothes bag trunk / backpack / cabin bag Product refill note trunk / backpack / cabin bag

Use the period emergency kit checklist for a small pouch.

Use the period product refill plan to count supplies.

Cabin privacy

Choose a storage spot before unpacking.

Question Your answer Where will supplies stay? Does the pouch close fully? yes / no What label feels private? Where will spare clothes stay? Where will used clothes wait for laundry? Who can open my trunk or bag? What should not be written on the outside?

Plain labels can help.

Try basics, swim bag, clothes, or initials.

Skip labels that share health details.

Bathroom and shower distance

Walk the route early if you can.

Place Distance Light at night? Backup note Cabin to bathroom near / far / not sure yes / no / not sure Cabin to shower near / far / not sure yes / no / not sure Dining hall to bathroom near / far / not sure yes / no / not sure Activity field to bathroom near / far / not sure yes / no / not sure Pool or lake to bathroom near / far / not sure yes / no / not sure Nurse or health office near / far / not sure yes / no / not sure

This is a planning note.

It does not ask camp to change its rules.

Ask a counselor if you need help finding a bathroom.

Trusted adult

Pick one adult before camp starts.

Person When to ask What to say Counselor bathroom / leak / supplies Camp nurse cramps / heavy bleeding / health worry Parent or caregiver refill / pickup / care question Cabin leader laundry / clothes / privacy

Simple words can work.

text I need supplies from my bag.

I need the bathroom.

I had a leak and need help.

Can I talk to the nurse?

Laundry plan

Ask the camp what is allowed.

Do this before you pack.

Laundry question Your answer Can campers do laundry? yes / no / not sure Who handles laundry? Where can stained clothes go? Do I need a wet bag? yes / no Do I need extra sleep clothes? yes / no What should go home in a sealed bag?

Do not assume a cabin has private laundry.

Do not assume an adult can wash items right away.

Activity changes

Camp days can include heat, water, hikes, and long games.

CDC says heat can affect health.

CDC Healthy Swimming has public water safety guidance.

Use this table to make a loose plan.

Activity Period note Bathroom plan Change clothes? Ask adult? Swim yes / no yes / no Hike yes / no yes / no Sports yes / no yes / no Overnight yes / no yes / no Long bus ride yes / no yes / no

This sheet does not give product use instructions for swimming.

Check camp rules and product labels.

Ask a trusted adult or clinician if you have health questions.

Cramps and symptoms

ACOG says period cramps can happen before or during a period.

This note does not tell you how to treat cramps.

It helps you explain what happened.

Date Period day Cramps 0 to 10 Other symptoms What changed : tired / nausea / headache / diarrhea

If pain feels severe, sudden, or unsafe, ask for help.

Use a counselor, camp nurse, parent, or local care service.

Product refills

Count by day.

Add extra if the trip is long.

Supply Packed amount Refill trigger : Main product Liners Spare underwear Disposal bags Wipes or tissue, if allowed Wet clothes bags

Keep one small set in the day bag if camp allows it.

Keep backup supplies in the cabin bag.

For a school like kit, use the period kit for school checklist.

Parent and teen sharing boundaries

Agree on what gets shared.

Do this before drop off.

Topic Teen choice Parent needs to know? Camp needs to know? Period start date yes / no yes / no Product type yes / no yes / no Cramps yes / no yes / no Laundry help yes / no yes / no Swim or activity change yes / no yes / no Private app notes yes / no yes / no

A parent may need enough to pack and help.

A teen may still want some notes kept private.

Both can be true.

Photos, apps, and shared devices

Camp photos can show cabins, tags, bags, and locations.

Shared phones can show notes.

Think before saving or sharing:

Product pouch photos. Cabin or bunk location. Camp wristbands or name tags. Screenshots of period notes. Group chats about leaks or cramps. Shared tablet or school device notes. Parent portal messages with health details.

Floriva can keep short period notes on your device.

But no app controls what happens outside it.

Screenshots can be shared.

Exports can be copied.

Backups can sync.

Shared devices can be seen by other people.

Use the teen period app privacy checklist for teen app choices.

Use the travel period data privacy checklist for camp travel.

Use the special event period data privacy checklist for group trips, team trips, or big camp events.

For beach or lake days, use the period at beach checklist.
