Perimenopause Symptom Priority Sorter
A plain sorter for overwhelming perimenopause symptoms, urgent concerns, bleeding changes, sleep, mood, and visit questions.
Perimenopause symptom lists can get messy fast.
You may see lists with 34, 66, or 100 symptoms. Those lists can be useful for recognition, but they are not a care plan. A sorter is more useful.
This page helps you decide what to track, what to ask about, and what may need care sooner.
1. Start with urgent concerns
Do this section first.
Concern Happened? What I will do I feel unsafe or may hurt myself Bleeding after 12 months with no period or spotting Very heavy bleeding or bleeding that worries me Severe pelvic pain Chest pain, fainting, or severe shortness of breath New confusion or symptoms that feel urgent
If something feels urgent, get care now. Do not wait to finish a tracker.
2. Sort bleeding and cycle changes
Use this for period changes.
Change Dates Mild, medium, or strong Question Shorter cycles Longer cycles Skipped periods Heavier bleeding Longer bleeding Spotting between periods Bleeding after sex Bleeding after menopause
Use the perimenopause bleeding pattern log if bleeding is the main issue.
3. Sort hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep
Symptom How often? Daily life impact What I want to ask Hot flashes Night sweats Trouble falling asleep Waking during the night Waking too early Daytime fatigue
Use the hot flash and night sweat log or sleep disruption tracker if this group is your main concern.
4. Sort mood, focus, and safety
Symptom Dates or pattern Daily life impact Support needed Anxiety Low mood Anger or irritability Brain fog Trouble focusing Memory concerns Safety concern
If danger is immediate, use emergency services now. If you are in suicidal crisis or emotional distress and not in immediate physical danger, contact 988 in the United States. Privacy can wait.
5. Sort body and sex symptoms
Only track what you want to discuss.
Symptom Dates or pattern How much it bothers me Question Vaginal dryness Pain with sex Urinary changes Headaches Joint or muscle aches Skin or hair changes Weight or body changes
You can keep sex or vaginal notes outside an app if that feels safer.
6. Pick your top three
You do not need to bring everything to a visit at once.
Rank Symptom or concern Why it matters 1 2 3
