Paper Fertility Chart to App Checklist

A checklist for moving a paper fertility chart into an app without copying extra private notes, locations, partner details, or old annotations.

A paper chart can hold more than chart data.

It may have names, places, and old notes.

It may have marks you do not want in an app. Review it first. Then copy only what still helps.

1. Pick the chart

2. Decide what moves

Copy the useful parts first.

Do not copy a field just because the app has a box for it.

3. Make a clean transfer sheet

Use this sheet before typing into the app.

Add more rows if the cycle is longer.

4. Strip extra private notes

Write a shorter note when a private note still matters.

Use simple replacements.

If a note is for your own memory, it can stay on paper.

5. Check the app setup

Before you type, check the app.

If the app does not fit your chart, pause. You can keep using paper.

6. Enter one cycle first

Start small.

Enter the cycle start date. Enter bleeding days. Enter BBT readings. Enter mucus notes. Enter LH results only if you tracked them. Enter medicine notes only if they matter now. Skip extra private notes.

Check the app view against the paper chart before adding more cycles.

7. Save the paper chart

Do not throw away the paper chart right away.

8. Review data leaving the app later

Any app can create a new copy of your chart data.

Before you add more cycles, check:

Can you export later? Can you delete later? Does the app sync with another service? Does the privacy policy say what happens to health notes? Do you know where backups go?
