Can't Focus Before Period Work Sheet
A plain work sheet for focus dips before a period, with task load, meetings, deadlines, memory slips, privacy-safe notes, and care questions.
Focus can drop before a period.
You may miss small steps. You may stare at a task. You may start the same thing twice.
This work sheet helps you write down what happened. It is not a test. It is not a work plan. It does not name the cause.
If the pattern feels new, severe, or far outside your cycle, bring that up with a clinician.
Quick focus note
Fill this in on a hard focus day.
Question Your note Date Cycle day, if known Days before period, if known Period due date, if known Focus level okay / low / very low Sleep last night good / broken / short / unsure Main task that felt hard Meeting load today none / light / heavy Deadline load today none / light / heavy Memory slip today What changed my day? Main question
Short notes work. "Read the same email four times" is enough.
Task load table
Use this for one day or one week.
Task Date Type Focus needed Can wait? What happened? work / school / care / home low / high yes / no
This table is for pattern notes. It is not a work method.
Meetings and deadlines
Write down the load. Do not judge it.
Item Date Load What made it hard? Note for later Meeting or class light / heavy Deadline light / heavy Errand or care task light / heavy Message or form light / heavy
You can leave out names, teams, teachers, or clients. Keep the note as small as you can.
Memory and focus slips
Check what fits.
I lost my place as I read. I forgot a small step. I missed a meeting or class cue. I rechecked the same thing many times. I forgot why I opened an app or tab. I had trouble starting. I had trouble finishing. I had trouble switching tasks. I needed written notes. I avoided a hard task. I made a small mistake I caught later. I made a mistake someone else caught. This happened before bleeding. This happened after bleeding started. This happened outside period timing too.
ACOG lists problems concentrating as a possible PMS symptom. OWH lists trouble thinking or focusing as a possible PMDD symptom. This list does not diagnose either one.
What else was going on?
Use this only if it helps.
Context Your note Sleep Pain or cramps Headache Mood Stress Medicine or supplement to discuss Screen time or noise Symptoms outside cycle timing
You do not need a full life log. A few facts are enough.
Pattern review
After bleeding starts, answer what you can.
Question Your note How many days before bleeding did focus drop? Did focus change once bleeding started? Which day was hardest? Did poor sleep happen too? Did pain, headache, or mood changes happen too? Did this repeat in another cycle? Did it happen far from period timing too? What do I want help with?
If brain fog is your main concern, use the period brain fog notes.
You can also use the brain fog before period tracker.

Sharing is optional. You can keep the full sheet private.
Privacy note
Focus notes can include cycle dates, work, school, mood, sleep, and health details.
Share the smallest useful amount. A short summary may be enough. You do not have to share app screenshots, full cycle notes, or private body details unless you choose.
