Ovulation Spotting Tracker

Use this ovulation spotting tracker to log timing, color, flow, pain, mucus, sex, and repeat patterns across 3 cycles.

Use this tracker when spotting shows up mid cycle

Mid cycle spotting is easy to misread. It may happen near ovulation. It may also be early period spotting, bleeding after sex, a birth control effect, or bleeding that needs care.

The tracker below helps you keep the facts clean. It does not diagnose the cause. It gives you a clear record to use at home or with a clinician.

If bleeding is heavy, pain is severe, or you may be pregnant, do not wait on a tracker. Call a clinician or urgent care.

The ovulation spotting log

Copy this table into a note, spreadsheet, or paper chart. Add one row for each spotting day. Repeat the table for each cycle you want to compare.

Date Cycle day Color Amount Pain 0 to 5 Mucus Sex in last 48 hours Ovulation test Notes Pink, red, brown Wipe only, liner, pad Dry, sticky, creamy, egg white Yes or no Negative, rising, positive, not used Pink, red, brown Wipe only, liner, pad Dry, sticky, creamy, egg white Yes or no Negative, rising, positive, not used Pink, red, brown Wipe only, liner, pad Dry, sticky, creamy, egg white Yes or no Negative, rising, positive, not used Pink, red, brown Wipe only, liner, pad Dry, sticky, creamy, egg white Yes or no Negative, rising, positive, not used Pink, red, brown Wipe only, liner, pad Dry, sticky, creamy, egg white Yes or no Negative, rising, positive, not used

Use the same words each time. That makes patterns easier to see.

How to rate amount

Wipe only: blood appears only when you wipe. Liner: a liner catches small stains. Pad: bleeding needs a pad or tampon. Flow: bleeding acts like a period.

Ovulation spotting should not act like flow. If it does, log it as bleeding between periods and ask for care.

How to rate pain

Use 0 to 5.

0: no pain 1: mild twinge 2: clear pain, but you can do normal tasks 3: pain changes your plans 4: strong pain that needs help 5: severe pain

One sided mid cycle pain can happen with ovulation. Severe pain, shoulder pain, dizziness, fever, or pain with possible pregnancy needs urgent care.

What to look for after 3 cycles

After 2 to 3 cycles, read the log like a pattern check.

The pattern fits ovulation spotting more closely when:

It happens near the middle of your cycle. It stays light. It lasts 1 to 2 days. It shows up near egg white mucus or a positive ovulation test. It does not turn into full flow.

The pattern needs more attention when:

It happens after sex. It gets heavier. It comes with strong pain. It happens at random points in the cycle. It repeats for several cycles and feels new for you. It happens after menopause.

ACOG describes abnormal uterine bleeding as bleeding that is heavy, irregular, between periods, or outside your usual cycle. A clean log helps a clinician see which kind you mean.

A quick summary for your clinician

Before an appointment, write 4 plain lines:

1. Spotting happened on cycle days: fill in . 2. It lasted: hours or days . 3. The amount was: wipe only, liner, pad, or flow . 4. It came with: pain, mucus, sex, ovulation test, or none .

Bring the full log too. The short summary helps when the visit is brief.

Privacy note

Spotting logs can include sex, possible pregnancy timing, and cycle data. Store the tracker somewhere you trust. A paper chart, local file, or on device app can limit who can see it.

Floriva can store cycle notes on your device. You can also use this tracker on paper.
