Emergency Contraception Cycle Follow-up Log
A plain log for dates, expected period timing, spotting, bleeding, test context if relevant, symptoms, and care questions after emergency contraception.
Use this log if emergency contraception is already part of your cycle story.
This is a record page.
It is not medical advice.
It does not tell you if you are pregnant.
It does not tell you if emergency contraception worked.
For medicine questions, ask a clinician or pharmacist. You can also check the label.
Start with dates
Write what you know.
Estimates are okay.
Prompt Your note Date emergency contraception was used Name on the box, if known Expected period date Last full period start date Usual cycle length, if known Date spotting started, if any Date full flow started, if any Main question
Keep this simple.
"Used EC on July 1" is enough.
"Expected period July 12" is enough too.
Bleeding and spotting log
Use one row per day.
Date Cycle day, if known Bleeding Color note Flow note Pain 0 to 10 Other symptoms Question : : none / spotting / flow light / usual / heavy
ACOG says spotting or irregular bleeding can happen after emergency contraception pills.
This table cannot say what bleeding means for you.
Period timing notes
Compare dates without trying to prove a cause.
Timing question Your note Was bleeding before the expected period date? Was bleeding near the expected period date? Was bleeding after the expected period date? Did full flow happen? How many days did flow last? Was flow like your usual period? What was different?
MedlinePlus says the next period after levonorgestrel may start up to a week earlier or later than expected.
That fact does not explain your cycle by itself.
For more context, read Plan B and period timing.
Test context, if relevant
Leave this blank if testing is not part of your question.
Test detail Your note Test date Days before or after expected period Time of day Test brand or type Result words or symbol Did the control line or marker work? yes / no / not sure What the test label said Question for care
This sheet does not tell you when to test.
It does not read a test.
Follow the test label.
Ask a clinician or pharmacist if timing or results feel unclear.
Use the negative pregnancy test late period questions page if that is the main issue.
Symptom notes
Check only what you want to ask about.
Cramps. Pelvic pain. Nausea. Vomiting. Diarrhea. Headache. Dizziness. Breast pain. Tiredness. Heavy bleeding. Spotting. Something else.
Write the date next to any symptom that matters.
Use the label or ask a clinician about symptoms that feel severe, sudden, or unlike your normal pattern.
Medicine questions
Use this space for questions only.
Do not use this page to make medicine choices.
Question Who to ask Answer you got What does the label mean? clinician / pharmacist Could another medicine matter? clinician / pharmacist Could a supplement matter? clinician / pharmacist What symptoms should I mention? clinician / pharmacist What should I do if I feel worse? clinician / pharmacist

Emergency contraception notes can include sex, dates, medicine, tests, symptoms, and care plans.
Keep only what helps you.
Use low detail notes if that feels better.
For fewer saved details, read the period tracker data minimization guide.
For a late period record, use the late period context log.
