Cycle Mood Support Person Note

A short note for period mood support and privacy boundaries.

Support is easier when the ask is short.

You do not need to share a full diary.

You can share timing.

Say what helps.

Say what must stay private.

This note is not therapy. It is not medical advice. It is not a crisis plan.

Safety first

If danger feels immediate, seek urgent help now.

If you are in suicidal, mental health, emotional distress, or substance use crisis and not in immediate physical danger, call or text 988.

Have a clinician or crisis plan? Follow that plan.

1. Choose the person

Pick someone by role, not just closeness.

Question Your answer Who can receive this note? What can they help with? What should they not handle? What details should they not share? How should they contact me?

You can make one short note.

You can make a fuller note for someone else.

2. Keep the note low detail

Write only what this person needs.

What does not help:

Please do not share this with anyone unless I ask. If I say , please help me get urgent support.

4. Even shorter text

Use this if you need a text message.

5. Support menu

Pick only what you want.

Text me once. Sit with me. Help me leave a tense place. Bring food or water. Help with kids, pets, or errands. Remind me to use my own care plan. Help me contact a clinician. Help me get urgent support if I ask.

Do not list support you do not want.

6. Privacy boundaries

Use plain wording.

If trust changes, send a new boundary.

This cannot force deletion. It can state your request clearly.

7. What not to put here

Keep some details in a safer place.

Full diary entries. Sex details. Private conflict details. Medicine changes. Substance use details. Safety plan details. Clinician notes. Portal screenshots.

Use the PMDD safety plan template for safety planning. Use this page for a small support note.
