How Floriva's Offline Mode Works

Floriva works fully offline with no internet required for any core tracking function. How data storage, backup, and device loss work, and why this architecture exists.

Why "Offline" Means Something Specific Here Most apps use "offline mode" to describe the ability to use limited features without internet while still syncing data to a server when connectivity returns. That's not what Floriva means. Floriva's offline design means the app performs all core functions using only data stored on your device. That includes logging periods, symptoms, BBT, cervical mucus, notes, and cycle calculations. There is no background sync to a server. There is no Floriva account required. There is no telemetry that sends your health entries anywhere. This is a deliberate design choice. Period tracking data is reproductive health data. In a legal environment where that data has been used in abortion related criminal investigations, the safest architecture is one where the data doesn't exist anywhere outside your device. What "Data on Device" Means Technically When you log a period start date in Floriva, that entry is written to the app's local database stored in your device's app data directory. This is a sandboxed storage location that: Is only accessible to the Floriva app and, with your permission, your device's operating system Does not sync to any remote server
