Period Cramp Night Log
A plain night log for period cramps at night, wake-ups, pain location, period day, bleeding, sleep impact, and visit questions.
Night cramps are easy to forget by morning.
You may remember that sleep was bad. You may forget the time, pain place, or period day.
Use this log for notes only. It does not name the cause. It does not give a care plan.
Fast night summary
Fill this in after one bad night or after one period.
Field Your notes Date range Last period start date Usual cycle length, if known Worst night Worst wake up time Main pain place Main sleep problem woke up / could not fall back asleep / up early Main next day problem Question for care
Use dates if cycle day is unclear.
Night cramp log
Use one row per night.
Date Period timing Wake up time Pain place Pain score Bleeding Other symptoms Sleep note Next day impact : before bleeding / day 1 / day 2 / after bleeding lower belly / low back / one side / hips / legs / other none / spotting / light / medium / heavy nausea / diarrhea / headache / none / other
Short notes are enough.
"Period day 1. Woke at 2:10 AM." "Lower belly cramps. Low back too." "Awake for about one hour." "Too tired for school." "Could not drive in the morning."
What to note, not judge
If you searched "menstrual cramps wake me up at night," start with facts you can see.
What time did you wake? Where did pain show up? Did bleeding start yet? Was flow light, medium, or heavy? Did nausea, diarrhea, headache, or back pain show up too? Did you sleep again? What changed the next day?
MedlinePlus says period pain is often cramping pain in the lower abdomen. It may also come with lower back pain, nausea, diarrhea, and headaches.
ACOG describes dysmenorrhea as painful periods. Pain can happen before or during a period.
Those facts can help you write clear notes. They do not tell this log what caused your night pain.
Pattern check
Answer these after a few nights or one cycle.
Pattern question Your answer Did cramps wake you before bleeding? yes / no / not sure Did cramps wake you during bleeding? yes / no / not sure Which period day was worst? What time did wake ups happen most? Did pain stay in one place? yes / no / not sure Did bleeding feel linked to bad sleep? yes / no / not sure What was the biggest next day impact? What question do you want answered first?
"No clear pattern" is still a useful note.
Notes on what you already did
Use this only if it helps your visit.
Date What I already used or tried Time Did sleep change? Notes for care team yes / no / not sure
This is not a dosing chart. It is not a care plan.
If you do not want to write medicine names here, skip them. You can bring a separate list.
Questions for a clinician
Pick the questions that fit.
Does this timing look cycle linked? What pain details matter most? Do you want the full log or a short summary? Should I track pain place for another cycle? Should I track bleeding and sleep together? What other causes should we check? What contact instructions apply to my notes? What can I leave out next time?
The Office on Women's Health says painful periods are period problems people can discuss with a doctor or nurse.
Short visit script
Use this if you do not want to share the full log.

Privacy note
Night notes can include bed times, period dates, pain, medicine, work, school, sex, mood, and home details.
Before you share, ask:
Who needs this? Do they need every night? Can I share the short script first? Can I remove names or private notes? Will this go into a portal, email, text, or download folder? Do I want to keep a copy of what I sent?
Floriva can keep short cycle notes on your device. Paper works too. The main goal is a clear record you control.
Read the sleep cycle data privacy checklist before you export more than you need.
